Arosa offers a variety of lovely experiences in summer. Whether it’s a special hike based on a certain theme, a walk through picturesque woods, a hike to crystal clear mountain lakes or to the 2,900 m highest mountain peak - all of this you can experience on the well-cared for and well-marked hiking paths of more than 200 km hiking trails in and around Arosa. Keep your eyes open as you are walking along as you will quite often see squirrels, marmots, deer, red stags, chamois, ibex and even golden eagles.
Particularly loved by children is the squirrel path running directly above our house where the bushy animals dare to run up very close to you and eat directly from your hands. Porcini and egg mushrooms in the surrounding woods are waiting for mushroom lovers. Local culinary specialities and refreshing drinks are offered by the mountain huts and restaurants whilst hiking or at the top of mountain peaks.
In the varied Arosa-Lenzerheide mountain bike region there are 500 km of bike trails awaiting you, from leisurely to sporty and from easy to difficult. At the top of the Hörnli a spectacular flow trail (mountain bike descent) takes you down to the bottom of the Hörnli cable car station. Those who are less skilled, including children, can obtain the necessary skills at the Bike Skill Centre needed for the flow trail. The Bike Skill Centre provides a band conveyor and four different types of parcours from simple to difficult which can be used FREE OF CHARGE.
Or rent a push scooter and ride from the Weisshorn Middle Station through the Arien woods down to the village. In the bear park, three bears can be seen in a spacious and appropriate natural habitat. The rope park, with seven different parcours, guarantees a unique adventure. Even small children (4 to 9 years) have their own two parcours and are able to climb from tree to tree with especially safe harnesses Enjoy the peaceful and majestic mountains in a rowing boat or pedalo on the idyllic Obersee or a leisurely ride in a horse and carriage. Take a swim on a warm summer’s day at the lido at the Untersee with its sandy shore, the solar heated diving pool, the beach volley ball area, the children’s playground and the restaurant with its lovely sum terrace.
The 18 hole golf course (65 par), one of the highest located golf courses in Europe, offers the passionate golfer everything that he wishes for. A 9-hole chipping green is located between Prätschli and the Middle Station. For those who prefer it a bit cooler, you can rent skating boots and skate on the ice hockey rink. During summer the Ochsner Hockey Academy organizes ice hockey camps for players and children of all ages. Whether families, sport lovers or for those who just want to enjoy, there is something for everyone.
